What an absolutely delightful cottage! It is cozy and welcoming with all you need to be comfortable. The scenery surrounding Crab Cottage is stunning and its location is ideal for traveling around the area and exploring the ruins, the villages and the city of Cork. There are great places to taste the fruits of the sea nearby. We were a party of 4 and enjoyed every moment of our stay. I would recommend Crab Cottage to anyone wanting to explore the south east of Ireland.
Our return trip to crab cottage was as fantastic as the first. Our kids can't wait to go back! Beautipful and peaceful place. Thanks again, Niamh and Niall.
We stayed in Crab cottage for 5 nights in May 2016 with our 2 small children (2 & 3). We loved the cottage and the kids had a great time. It is so peaceful and secluded, but a short trip to beautiful Roscarberry and nearby beaches. The house has everything you will need from kitchen equipment to kids toys and games to keep everyone entertained. Lovely and cosy, a lovingly restored cottage with plenty of character and a swing with an amazing view! The views are spectacular from the house especially the main bedroom which looks out to sea through the hills! The owners have all the information you need about what to do in West Cork from great fishing spots to where to shop to beaches! The directions are excellent to get to the cottage ( it is quiet secluded so trust the directions and you will get there!) and after first drive there its simple. We are looking forward to visiting Crab cottage again this year to visit more of the wonderful area. the kids can't wait to get back also!
My wife and I spent a week in Crab Cottage during September which was an ideal base for us to explore West Cork. We have never stayed in a holiday home which is as well equipped for self catering, so we made the most of the local Farmer's Markets and the fantastic Antcar Fish Shop in Union Hall. The cottage was warm, clean and very comfortable and we are looking forward to staying again next year.
I stayed at Crab Cottage in August 2016. A fantastic house, well equipped and in a great location. It felt worlds away and really restful but actually was in the heart of the most beautiful area with lots to see and do. The local beaches were great for the children and the surf school at Inchydoney was brilliant for them too. I would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone visiting this lovely part of Ireland.
